I am extremely pleased to announce that the recipient of this years Trevor Johnson award for progress is Carla Hillier in Year 12.
Throughout Level 2 BTEC art and into Level 3, Carla has showed unwavering curiosity, diligence and perseverance as an artist – always seeking to overcome creative challenges, and quietly building up her technique and skill, investigating many artistic disciplines.

Carla has explored a wide variety of different themes, but feels more comfortable with natural forms, landscapes and textural artforms. Her sketchbook work is extremely well thought-out and detailed, and follows the Creative Process closely. As you can see from the examples on this page, she confidently annotates her explorations in detail, and understands the importance of consistently communicating her thoughts and feelings as she develops a project.

Carla is continuing to make excellent progress as her level 3 BTEC continues. In her final year of sixth form at More House she will be creating outcomes based on the theme of ‘Surfaces’ . I am very much looking forward to the results of this final project, and hope to be sharing her artwork in the new year.
