Sam Jenkins – GCSE Photography Showcase

Dorset Coastal landscape

Sam Jenkins is a passionate and creative photographer who has maintained his dedication throughout the 2 years of his GCSE course.

His tireless attention to technical detail means he spends a lot of time planning his photo shoots, and maintaining his camera equipment. However the results of this speak for themselves, and he is on track to achieve a very strong result this year.

Sam uses a Nikon D3300 SLR camera but says it’s really the range of lenses he uses that makes the difference. For example he’s just bought a Sigma 1.8 18-35mm lens that he’s already used to capture some close-up shots of his pets at home, and has managed to sell some of his images in order to fund the purchase.

Abstract 1

Sam’s favourite type of photography so far has been his abstract work.

“I think my abstract photos have a clean look. And i also like that people don’t know how I achieved them or don’t understand what they are. No one else can take the photos exactly the way I do.”
