In today’s lesson we looked at two different audience descriptions – Mass and Niche.

Mass audience is linked to mass Media – the Collins dictionary has this to say about it:

examples of media that will appeal to a Mass audience are:

A niche audience will be those who are interested in following a very specific type of media with limited appeal – this could be linked to a particular hobby or lifestyle.

Of course sometimes a Niche text can turn into Mass text, like this once little known strange cartoon….
