Graphic design….using spreadsheets? That’s fun? (kind of…)

I happened to be in the Festival Hall not long ago having coffee, and on the main stage was a really energetic Australian presenter – Matt Parker, whose entire show was based around spreadsheets and mathematics. Absolutely not my usual thing.

However he was so animated and funny, i couldn’t help but get into what he was saying – especially when he demonstrated a brilliant way of explaining pixels and picture resolution using an excel spreadsheet – in a fun way!?! – so that’s relevant to us in media as we cover graphic design, hence this blog post.

he can explain it much better than i, so here’s his website with a little interactive photo upload thingy that you’ll need to do for the experiment to work….
